The Final Trial is one of the main quests at Kaer Morhen inside Ugly Baby. Yennefer needs a phylactery charged with energy to lift Uma's curse. The job falls to Lambert, who grumbles about it and dislikes Yennefer. Geralt goes with him to the Circle of Elements, far to the north. The road leads across a lake, through a troll's cave and over mountain passes full of rock trolls.
The Final Trial Map Location and Quest Guide
The Final Trial map location:
- Find Lambert in the great hall of Kaer Morhen.
- Follow Lambert and kill the harpies on the way.
- Find the boat by the lake, and kill the drowners and the water hag there.
- Get in the boat and sail across the lake with Lambert.
- Look into the boy's cries and kill the foglets, or ignore them.
- Enter the cave and go through it quietly.
- Climb the ledges past Old Speartip, or wake him and kill him.
- Leave the cave and follow the path up the mountain.
- Run into the tunnel when the rock trolls throw boulders.
- Clear the blocked tunnel with Aard.
- Talk to the trolls, then leave the swords with them or fight them.
- Go on to the Circle of Elements.
- Light the torches around the altar with Igni.
- Put the phylactery on the altar.
- Talk to Lambert while the phylactery charges.

Choices
A boy's voice calls out across the lake. Going to look leads to a fight with foglets. Ignoring it, as Lambert suggests, is also fine.
Old Speartip sleeps in the cave. Using Aard on the rock walls wakes him up. Climbing the ledges instead lets Geralt slip past, though he can still choose to fight.
The rock trolls guard the way to the Circle. Geralt can talk them down by laying down his swords. Lambert hates that idea. The other way is to side with Lambert and kill the trolls.

Notes
- Swords left with the trolls can be collected again after the ritual.
- No Place Like Home starts once Disturbance, To Bait a Forktail... and this quest are all done.
