Lambert is a witcher of the School of the Wolf. He is the youngest of the witchers of Kaer Morhen, and perhaps the last one ever trained there. He crosses paths with Geralt in Novigrad in the quest Following the Thread. Lambert then helps prepare Kaer Morhen for the battle against the Wild Hunt.

Lore

---

If destiny really chooses which boys become witchers, it made a twisted and cruel choice in Lambert's case. He has every reason to resent the life fate gave him. He was trained as a witcher at Kaer Morhen.

By the time the story begins, Lambert has proven his skill many times. He has hunted down many mighty beasts and crossed almost every realm of the Continent several times. He has also earned a name for arrogance and sarcastic humor. His gruff and often rude manner can annoy even his fellow witchers.

Story

---

Geralt takes a contract on a monster that kills by night in the Novigrad slums. He tracks it to its lair and finds Lambert already fighting it, an ekimmara. The two witchers kill it together. What starts as a chance meeting turns into a tale of old friendship, murder and vengeance. Lambert is hunting the men he blames for the death of Aiden, a witcher friend of his. He and Geralt follow the trail to Jad Karadin, the leader of the band, who now lives in Novigrad as a wealthy merchant under another name. Geralt decides whether Lambert gets his revenge or Karadin is spared. If Karadin lives, Lambert is furious with Geralt.

Lambert later returns to Kaer Morhen to help lift the curse on Uma. Yennefer gives him the job of charging a phylactery at the Circle of Elements, much to his displeasure. Geralt goes with him. Their path crosses a lake full of drowners, the cave of the cyclops Old Speartip and mountain passes full of rock trolls. The two trade barbed remarks all the way. Geralt puts up with it, because he knows Lambert's sarcasm hides many deep and unhealed wounds. At the keep, it also turns out a case of dimeritium bombs that Lambert left near Yennefer's room has been jamming her megascope.

Lambert makes no secret of his hatred for Kaer Morhen. Still, when the Wild Hunt attacks, he defends the keep without a second thought. His fate in the battle depends on earlier choices. If Keira Metz came to Kaer Morhen, she saves him at the last moment. If Geralt reaches him in time, the two hold back the attackers together. If no help comes, the Hunt's soldiers cut Lambert down.

Relationships

---

Vesemir was Lambert's teacher, and Geralt and Eskel are his fellow witchers of the Wolf School. Lambert has little love for Yennefer. If Keira Metz saves his life at Kaer Morhen, the two become a couple after the battle.
