Batty's Hotel

Batty's Hotel
Type Defunct hotel
Region Pacifica
Sub-district Coastview

Batty's Hotel is an abandoned luxury hotel in Coastview, Pacifica. The locals turned it into a communal market, and the Voodoo Boys made it their base. It is named after Roy Batty, the replicant of the film Blade Runner.

History

Batty's was built when Pacifica was being turned into a resort for the rich. Then the Unification War came, the corporations pulled their money out, and the hotel was left unfinished.

Over the years, the people of Pacifica moved in. They set up homes and stalls in its halls. The Voodoo Boys took over parts of the building and run their business from there.

Inside Batty's Hotel

The ground floor is a busy market where locals trade food, tech and scrap. Further in, the gang guards the rooms where Placide and Brigitte meet their guests. A plaque inside the hotel quotes Roy Batty, and its logo shows an origami figure from the film.

The market trades in information as much as goods, within the Haitian community of Pacifica. The Voodoo Boys keep a quiet presence in the hotel, so it is wise not to turn up alone or uninvited. At night the vans of the radio station 89.7 Growl FM park close to the hotel, and a netrunner vendor works nearby.
