Placide is one of the top leaders of the Voodoo Boys, the secretive gang of netrunners in Pacifica, and the second in command to Maman Brigitte. The Voodoo Boys want nothing to do with people from the city, but Mr. Hands arranges a meeting between Placide and V. Placide is not much of a talker and hates helping outsiders. Through him, V hopes to reach Brigitte and a way to remove the Relic.
Biography
Pacifica
Placide came to Pacifica with the Haitians who fled their ruined homeland and rose to second place among the Voodoo Boys. He gives off an air of danger that inspires fear and respect. He cares little for the outsiders who come into Pacifica and helps only his own people.
The Ranyon
When a NetWatch agent freezes Brigitte and Ti Neptune in the net, Placide hires V as a ranyon, a disposable merc, to go into the Grand Imperial Mall. The Animals have taken over the mall, and Placide wants to know why. Inside, V finds the netrunner Bryce Mosley, who works with NetWatch. Placide tells V to plug into Mosley so he can attack the NetWatch network.
When V connects, Placide runs a virus through the whole network, and V's brain burns out along with the rest. The Relic brings V back. Placide shrugs it off as a risk of the trade and blames Mosley. Brigitte, now awake, steps in before the quarrel turns into a fight.

Personality
Placide is cold, suspicious and dangerous. He sees outsiders as tools and does not care if they die on the job. He is loyal to Brigitte and the Voodoo Boys, and he holds a grudge against anyone who crosses them.
Relationships
Brigitte is his leader. Mr. Hands arranges his meeting with V. Bryce Mosley is the netrunner he wants V to reach. The Animals hold the mall he needs entered.
Jobs
Placide gives V the job in M'ap Tann Pèlen and sends V into the mall in I Walk the Line. He appears again in Transmission.

Endings
If V refuses to plug into Mosley, Placide is furious and nearly starts a fight when V returns. If V turns on the Voodoo Boys after the dive, Placide sends V a message through the net telling the merc to watch their back. If V leaves in peace under Brigitte's protection, he is disappointed he cannot kill V and sends the same warning.
Notes
Placide cannot be beaten with the System Collapse quickhack.
