Laguna Bend was a small town on the south eastern edge of the Badlands that now lies under the water of a reservoir. It was flooded when a new dam was built. Its ruins are still there, almost untouched, beneath toxic water. Judy Álvarez grew up here.
History
Laguna Bend was founded by reclaimers on the edge of the old reservoir. They built a township that felt like life before the collapse, with real houses, a town square, a church and a public school. Flo's Diner was its only eatery.
A school shooting in the 2040s scarred the town, and the residents protested the dam project to no avail. The town was flooded when the new reservoir was built.

Life in Laguna Bend
Today Laguna Bend is a dive site rather than a place to live. V and Judy swim through its drowned streets during Pyramid Song, past the church, the school and the old fuel station.
The town went from a quiet village to a suburb of Night City to a reservoir. A company called NC Dam built the dam and flooded the town before its residents could mount any real opposition. Some people only managed to leave their homes on the day the water came. From the outside the lake is a welcome sight among the dry Badlands, but its water is highly toxic and is likely to stay that way.
