Needle in a Haystack is a reported crime at the docks in Northside, Watson, southeast of the cargo bay. A crew of Scavengers under Alan Crank came for one container among hundreds. Their plan was to get the details from a Tyger Claw, but the plan fell apart, and now nobody knows which container it is.
Story
All the Same
The journal points out the trouble with shipping containers: they all look the same. That is usually fine, until one of them holds the thing V wants. That is when the plot thickens.
Mark the Right Container
Two shards come from the people shipping it. Kawahara tells Soga that the transport has arrived and that he must mark the right container. A courier firm, Revere Courier Services, will collect it the next day, and the day after it will be across the border. A note from Kawahara adds that the mark is TCX, as agreed with the couriers. It ends with a warning: around the docks, it is easy to catch a knife in the ribs.
Plan B
Another shard records Crank with a contact named Lance. Crank asks which container it is. Lance has no idea. The plan was to get the information out of the Tyger. Crank says the plan went wrong: the man fought back, and they had to kill him. Lance has nothing more, and tells him to look around.
