The Beast in Me: The Big Race is the championship of Claire Russell's street racing storyline, after The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo. About two days later, Claire texts V the start, on Pardey Street in Charter Hill, Westbrook. Peter Sampson, the Militech driver Claire blames for her husband's death, is on the grid, and V must choose between the podium and Claire's revenge.

Story

Your Call

The journal leaves it up to V. Will V help Claire stick it to the corpos who killed her husband, or chase the top spot on the podium? Johnny knows what he would do, but V's hands are on the wheel, not his. He admits that Claire is not so bad after all, and he feels a little sorry for her. Still, it is V's call. Good luck out there, turbo.

Sampson

At the start, V calls Claire. She asks which vehicle V wants, and suggests something fast, as this is a highway race. V leans against a wall and waits. When V walks over, Claire and Sampson are in a heated argument. As soon as Sampson sees V, he goes after Claire even harder. He tells V to get out while V still can, since Claire gets her drivers killed. Then he claims her husband got himself killed by taking on more than he could handle, with his ego getting the better of him. V cannot calm things down and can only watch. Sampson gets into his car, Claire throws one last jeer at him, and storms off to their car.

The Highway

Once the race starts, Claire wants V to stay close to Sampson. About two thirds of the way through, Sampson's car gets into trouble and veers off the highway. Claire urges V to follow him.

The Beast in Me: The Big Race map location:

  1. Read Claire's text about two days after The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo.
  2. Go to the start on Pardey Street in Charter Hill.
  3. Call Claire and choose a fast car, or Claire's.
  4. Lean against the wall and wait for Claire.
  5. Approach Claire and watch her argument with Sampson.
  6. Talk to Claire and get into the car.
  7. Wait for the race to start and stay close to Sampson.
  8. When Sampson leaves the highway, follow him, or keep racing to the finish.
  9. Follow Sampson: stop the vehicle at the crash and talk to Claire.
  10. Keep racing: finish the race, then talk to Claire once she has cooled off.

Choices

Following Sampson

Off the highway, Sampson crashes into another car. Claire and V get out and watch him crawl from the wreck. What happens to him then decides the end of Claire's storyline, in The Beast In Me.

Winning the Race

If V ignores Sampson and wins, Claire is furious. That was her one chance to give Sampson what he deserved. After the finish, she needs a moment to cool off, then angrily asks V whether winning was worth more than justice, and leaves.

Tips

Save before the race in case of foul play from the other drivers. A weaponised vehicle from AUTOFIXER makes the race easier.

  • For the best ending of the storyline, follow Sampson off the highway.
