The Villefort Cortes V6000 NCPD Overlord is the patrol car of Night City. It has an armoured body, bulletproof glass and an engine strong enough to push through whatever is blocking the road. Border Patrol and the Sheriff run the same car in their own colours, and the better funded districts have an unmarked version. It is the police vehicle players see most. The Overlord patrols every district and answers the lower wanted levels.

Performance

Power goes to the rear wheels of a long, armoured saloon, so it slides under hard acceleration and wants room to turn. The engine is strong enough to shove debris and smaller cars out of the way rather than going around them.

The glass is bulletproof and the body is plated, so a pursuit does not end because someone shot at it. As in every police vehicle, the radio carries dispatch and the siren toggles on the horn button.

Lore

Villefort names its cars after Spanish conquerors and explorers, and the Cortes is the plainest of them. The Database promises that the high-powered engine lets this one overcome most varieties of makeshift road obstacle, which says a good deal about the roads it patrols.

The same body wears three liveries. NCPD runs it in the city, the SoCal Border Patrol runs it at the edge of the state, and the Sheriff runs it outside the city limits.
