The Ash of War: Impaling Thrust is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Keen affinity and the Impaling Thrust skill. It turns up early in a run, in Stormhill.
Impaling Thrust builds power, then lunges forward with a strong thrust that pierces an enemy's guard. The thrust ignores most of the damage negation of a raised shield and deals heavy stance damage. It is cheap to use and recovers quickly on light weapons. It suits Dexterity builds using rapiers, estocs and spears that want to punish turtling enemies and catch rolls in PvP.

Skill
Use it against shield users, since the thrust ignores 85% of guarded damage negation. It is a reliable roll-catch after an attack string, but the wind-up is easy to recognize and parry. The Spear Talisman boosts it when it lands as a counter hit.
