The Estoc is a Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Early game. It is found around Limgrave, in the opening stretch of a run, so it is one of the first real upgrades you can carry.

Why Players Pick It

107 physical at +0 to 262 at max standard, with the class-best guard boost among the plain rapiers at 24. It is the availability pick: Prisoner starting gear, and otherwise sold by the Nomadic Merchant in southern Liurnia and by Patches.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at E and Dex at C, so Dex is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 11 and Dex 13 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.

Notes

Large piercing sword with a long, hard bladed edge which is also capable of slashing attacks. For its large size, it can be wielded rather nimbly, leaving little opportunity for the enemy to counter.
