Elden Ring - Light Greatswords

Light greatswords combine greatsword reach with straight sword speed, and because each one wants a completely different build, a character's stat spread makes the choice almost automatically.

Combat

Pros

• They offer greatsword blade length at 6.5 to 8 weight, with quick attacks that flow into each other at the cost of some damage.
• Milady reaches 284 physical at max Standard on regular Smithing Stones, just behind Broadsword's 286 and Sword Lance's 323, and it is fully infusable.
• Guard boost is high for a sword, with Milady at 36 and Rellana's Twin Blades and Leda's Sword at 35.
• Rellana's Twin Blades scale with four attributes at once, D in Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Faith at +0 and C in all four at max Standard, for 252 physical, 161 magic and 161 fire.

Cons

• The class requires the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and does not exist in the base game.
• The Idus Sword is a Tarnished Edition exclusive, so most players cannot obtain it, even though its 124 physical at +0 would make it the hardest hitter in the class.
• Rellana's Twin Blades and Leda's Sword take Somber stones, so Milady is the only one that accepts Ashes of War or infusions, and a build that Milady does not suit has no way to adapt.
• No weapon in the class carries a status effect.

Builds

Stats pick the weapon here, not the reverse.

• A Strength and Dexterity quality build goes to Milady (12 Strength, 17 Dexterity), and since it is the only infusable one, it is also the Strength answer (Heavy, B Strength, 263), the Dexterity answer (Keen, B Dexterity, 263), the Arcane answer (Occult, B Arcane, 252) and the frost answer (Cold, B Dexterity with 105 frost).
• An Intelligence and Faith hybrid goes to Rellana's Twin Blades (13 Strength, 16 Dexterity, 16 Intelligence, 16 Faith), the only weapon in the class that scales with Intelligence.
• A Dexterity and Faith build goes to Leda's Sword (11 Strength, 22 Dexterity, 19 Faith), which rises from C to B Dexterity at max Standard for 247 physical plus 159 holy.
• On Milady the next big damage gain comes from the infusion, while on either Somber weapon it comes from flat stat levels.

It is the only one that takes regular Smithing Stones and Ashes of War, so it adapts to Strength, Dexterity, Arcane or frost builds through a single infusion.
Rellana's Twin Blades		103 + 66 magic + 66 fire	8	13	16	16	16	-	Rellana's Twin Blades are the only light greatsword with Intelligence scaling, carrying 103 physical, 66 magic and 66 fire at base and reaching C in Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Faith at max upgrade. One copy dual-wields, and Rellana's Cameo boosts its Moon-and-Fire Stance. The off-hand blade is always the fire and Faith sword, so a pure Intelligence build cannot run two magic blades.
Leda's Sword		101 + 65 holy	7.5	11	22	-	19	-	Leda's Sword is the Dexterity and Faith light greatsword, with 65 holy at base, the only holy damage in its class, and C Dexterity rising to B for 247 physical plus 159 holy at max upgrade. Needle Piercer costs 19 FP. It arrives late, so it suits an endgame or New Game Plus character rather than a mid-run pick.

Notes

• Wing Stance is exclusive to Milady and the Idus Sword and is found in Castle Ensis.
• Rellana's Twin Blades are a paired weapon. One copy dual-wields, and the blade depends on the hand, with magic in the main hand and fire in the off-hand, which rules out a double Intelligence setup but allows Intelligence-only or Faith-only single-sword play.
• Blade length varies little across the class, except for Rellana's off-hand blade, which is shorter than the rest.
