Elden Ring - Twinblades

A status-application engine: every swing lands twice, so it fills bleed and frost bars faster than anything with comparable attack rating (AR), but it wants both hands and gives up reach to do it.

Combat

Pros

• 's class page: twinblades "excel in swift, long combo attacks and can be used to quickly build up status effects." The double-hit swing is the whole value proposition.
• Highest combined attack rating (AR) in these five classes: Euporia at 205 physical + 245 holy = 450 (tied with Meteoric Ore Blade), then Gargoyle's Black Blades at 198 + 237 = 435.
• 5 of 8 accept Ashes of War: Twinblade, Twinned Knight Swords, Godskin Peeler, Gargoyle's Twinblade and Black Steel Twinblade all have full infusion tables.
• Blood infusion reaches (100) buildup, the ceiling across these five classes alongside the Great Katana; Curved Swords and Katanas top out at (82).

Cons

• Short range, and they "can be wielded with a single hand, but they are best used in both hands", the one-handed moveset is the weak half of the weapon.
• Heavy for the damage: 6.0: 8.5 weight for a 301 max-attack rating (AR) ceiling. A Great Katana carries 379 for 9.5.
• Only one of each Twinblade can be acquired per playthrough: powerstancing a matched pair requires New Game Plus or a second player's drop.
• Poise damage is unremarkable: 84 (Eleonora's Poleblade) to 100 (Gargoyle's Twinblade) at max standard, and Patch 1.08 cut it further in PvP.

Builds

Quality or Dex-primary depending on which weapon.

• Gargoyle's Twinblade is the Str pick (C Str at +0, A Str on Heavy); Godskin Peeler is the Dex pick (A Dex on Keen); Twinned Knight Swords is the even quality split.
• Arcane is the third fork, every infusable twinblade reaches B Arc on Occult, and Blood gives (100) buildup, which is where the double-hit moveset genuinely compounds.

It is a corpse pickup near the East Windmill Pasture on the Altus Plateau, so it costs no boss fight.
Godskin Peeler		121	8	17	22	-	-	-	The best Dex scaling in the infusable set: C at +0, B at 296 max standard, A on max Keen. 's page adds the consensus read: "A decent option for arcane when blood infused, and pairs well with Eleonora's Poleblade," and notes it "has a unique R2 and running R2 that utilize the winding spike end." Requires Str 17 / Dex 22.
Euporia		84 + 100 holy	8.5	16	16	-	24	-	205 physical + 245 holy at max standard: 450 total, tied with Meteoric Ore Blade for the highest in these five classes. Its blades gain Luster from damaging enemies, and Euporia Vortex grows stronger with restored Luster then fully consumes it. The catch is written into the item: damage dealt to Those Who Live in Death restores no Luster, so it is dead weight in skeleton and undead areas. Requires Fai 24.
Eleonora's Poleblade		72 + 72 fire	6	12	21	-	-	19	The only Arcane-scaling twinblade (D Arc) and the only one with innate bleed at 55. Lightest in the class at 6.0, with 72 physical + 72 fire at +0 going to 176 / 176 at max. Cost: 84 poise damage, the class floor, and no infusion, it is Somber-upgraded.

• Every swing is a two-hit combination, which is why status buildup outpaces raw attack rating (AR) in this class.
• Poise damage at max standard: 84 (Eleonora's Poleblade) to 100 (Gargoyle's Twinblade, Gargoyle's Black Blades); Gargoyle's Twinblade on Heavy reaches 110.
• Max Blood ceiling is (100) buildup: Gargoyle's Twinblade 253 attack rating (AR), Twinned Knight Swords 251, Godskin Peeler 249, Twinblade 245.
