The Partisan is a Spear in Elden Ring. It has the highest physical attack of any spear in the game. It turns up early in a run, in Limgrave.

The Partisan is a spear with a wide tip that can sweep through foes as well as thrust. Large Godrick Knights, Redmane Knights, Cuckoo Knights, Leyndell Knights and mounted Mausoleum Knights drop it at a 4% base rate, with one at the Gatefront Ruins in Limgrave. Its strong attacks are wide horizontal slashes shared with the Spiked Spear and Death Ritual Spear, hitting several enemies in front, while its light attacks are fast, long-reaching thrusts and its guard counters become thrusting counterattacks. It deals the highest damage among spears and scales mainly with Strength, so it suits a Strength or status build.

Stats

The Partisan has the highest base physical attack among spears at 123, rising to 301 at max upgrade, and it is one of only three spears with a slashing heavy attack. It takes Ashes of War, infusions and buffs on ordinary Smithing Stones, and Godrick Knights drop it, so it can be in hand within the first hour of a run and carried to the end.

How to Get Partisan Guide

4% chance to be dropped from Knight enemies that wield it, such as the Godrick Knight in the Gatefront Ruins in Limgrave, or the two Leyndell Knight near the Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite grace in Mt. Gelmir.

Skill

Impaling Thrust costs 9 FP. The wielder gathers power, then lunges forward into a strong piercing thrust that punches through an enemy's guard. Most of the damage gets past a raised shield, which makes it a reliable answer to turtling enemies and players. The thrust can be parried. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.

Suggested Build

Fast long-reaching thrusts apply status and stack successive-hit buffs, while the sweeping strong attacks handle groups.
