The Ash of War: Unsheathe is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Keen affinity and the Unsheathe skill. It is available within the first few hours of a run.
Unsheathe is the art of the swordsmen from the Land of Reeds: the wielder sheathes the katana at the hip in a composed stance that costs no FP to hold. A normal attack draws the blade into a swift horizontal slash, while a strong attack draws it into a heavy overhead strike. The strong follow-up deals stance damage on par with a charged heavy attack and comes out very fast, breaking most enemies' stance in a few hits. It suits Dexterity builds with katanas and is one of the strongest skills for the class.
Stats
It grants the Keen affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs no FP. It fits Katana.
How to Get Ash of War: Unsheathe Guide
- Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab in the water in the southeastern corner of Agheel Lake in Limgrave, northwest of the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
Holding the stance for a moment first lets Rellana's Cameo boost the follow-ups, and releasing the stance without attacking costs no FP. The quick strong follow-up is ideal for punishing recovery windows and catching rolls. Both follow-ups can be parried.
