Dung Eater is a character in Elden Ring.

The Dung Eater is a loathsome Tarnished whose spirit sits among corpses in the Roundtable Hold. He calls himself a scourge upon the living and spreads the Seedbed Curse among the dead. Releasing his real body from a cell below Leyndell starts a dark questline. Completing it yields the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse and the Blessing of Despair ending.

Lore

The Dung Eater wears heavy Omen armor and fights with the Sword of Milos.

He killed people and used the Seedbed Curse to defile their bodies, so their souls stayed cursed for generations to come.

When the Tarnished drove him off, he came to believe that his own flesh was meant to bear the curse. He asked to be filled with Seedbed Curses until a rune of despair took shape inside him.

Roundtable Hold, in a room past Gideon's study after reaching the Altus Plateau
Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, locked in a cell beyond the Underground Roadside Site of Grace
Outer moat of Leyndell, as an invader

Quest

The steps below follow Dung Eater's questline from start to finish.

Show the Dung Eater a Seedbed Curse in the Roundtable Hold to receive the Sewer-Gaol Key.
Open his cell in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds beyond the Underground Roadside Site of Grace and release him.
Summon him against Mohg, the Omen or Morgott, the Omen King, if desired.
Read his message in the Roundtable Hold and go to the outer moat of Leyndell, where he invades after Boggart's death.
Defeat him and speak to him again in the Roundtable Hold.
Give his real body in the cell five Seedbed Curses to receive the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse.
Reload the area to find the Omen set where he sat.
