Mohg, the Omen is a great boss in Elden Ring.

Mohg, the Omen is the twin brother of Morgott, met here as a phantom in the depths of the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds below Leyndell. He fights with a huge trident and spells of bloodflame. His shackle, found in the sewers, pins him to the ground twice per attempt. Defeating him opens one of the two routes to the Deeproot Depths.

Lore

Mohg is a towering, horned Omen in dark robes. He wields a great three-pronged trident. His blood burns with flame when he spills it.

Mohg was born to the Golden Lineage, a son of Godfrey and Queen Marika, and twin brother of Morgott. Both twins were born as accursed Omen. They were shackled and confined in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds below Leyndell.

Unlike his brother, Mohg embraced his Omen blood. Deep underground he made contact with the Formless Mother, who set his accursed blood alight. The shackles that once held him still carry a trace of their power.

Where to find Mohg, the Omen Location?

Weaknesses

Immune Poison, Scarlet Rot, Bleed, Frostbite
Parry No

Attacks

  • Trident sweeps and thrusts: long-reaching swings that clip at unexpected range. Keeping outside the reach or rolling through the swing avoids them.
  • Bloodflame projectiles: blood spells hurled from range. Pillars block them.
  • Blood splatter: he spills burning blood across the ground. Keeping out of the pools avoids the damage.
  • Spell casting: he stops to cast bloodflame, which is not a safe time to trade blows.

Tactics

  1. Buy or find Mohg's Shackle and use it twice per attempt to pin him for heavy attacks.
  2. Summon a strong spirit ash at the start, or summon Dung Eater if his sign is present.
  3. Raise robustness and fire defense, because his attacks burn and bleed.
  4. Use charged and heavy attacks after each shackle to break his stance for a critical hit.
  5. Hide behind the pillars from his blood projectiles while they stand.
  6. Use magic or physical damage, since status effects do not work on him.
