The Litany of Proper Death is a Golden Order incantation in Elden Ring. It is available within the first few hours of a run.
Litany of Proper Death is one of the incantations of the Golden Order fundamentalists, used by the hunters of Those Who Live in Death, who stamp out defiled reason for the perfection of the Golden Order. It sends a wide wave of crossing golden light along the ground with a quick cast, dealing light holy damage but massive bonus damage to undead enemies, and skeletons it fells can no longer revive. Against other enemies its damage is meager, and it only affects foes on the same ground level as the caster, so it is very situational. It can still finish off low-health PvP opponents thanks to its wide area, and it can be blocked despite traveling along the ground. It suits Golden Order builds with both Intelligence and Faith that regularly face skeletons and other undead.
Effect
Sends a wave of crossing golden light along the ground that deals light holy damage, with a 900% bonus against Those Who Live in Death. Each cast costs 17 FP and 28 stamina and takes up one memory slot.
