The Mantle of Thorns is a Thorn sorcery in Elden Ring. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.
Mantle of Thorns is a thorn sorcery of those who abandoned incantations after devout faith rewarded them only with despair, its misshapen Scadutree an edict to wound all that exists. For 50 HP and some blood loss buildup, it covers the caster in thorns for half a minute so every dodge roll deals physical damage to enemies it touches, much like the Briar Armor. It is the only thorn sorcery that deals physical rather than magic damage, so the Staff of the Guilty and Alberich's set do not boost it. It stacks with the Briar set for a far bigger bonus than expected and also works alongside buffs such as Electrocharge and Fire's Deadly Sin, while the Old Lord's Talisman extends its duration. It suits aggressive builds that roll through enemies and want every dodge to deal damage.
Effect
Wounds the caster for 50 HP to cover them in Scadutree thorns for 30 seconds, during which dodge rolls deal 87 physical damage to enemies they touch. Each cast costs 9 FP and 22 stamina and takes up one memory slot.
How to Get Mantle of Thorns Guide
Dropped by the Ulcerated Tree Spirit that emerges by the large dead tree in the Church District of the Shadow Keep, after the water there has been drained.

Casting it takes 20 Faith and a Glintstone Staff. It fits Faith thorns builds, where it is often cast alongside Briars of Sin, Briars of Punishment and Impenetrable Thorns.
