The Drak Chieftan is a Drak enemy in Enshrouded, found in the Veilwater Basin and the Cinder's Cradle. Drak Chieftains are fierce reptilian fighters that can be encountered guarding Drak villages and settlements in the Veilwater Basin. They fight with their axe using slashing and smashing attacks. Like all Drak, they can drop Drak teeth, blood, scales, and claws. It is weak to Shroud and shock damage.
Where to Find the Drak Chieftan
Drak Chieftains guard the villages and settlements of the Drak in the Veilwater Basin. They stand near Drak'Dal Temples and Drak'Dal Ruins, and around Orville. One guards a Drak'Dal Camp where the Drak hunt Capybaras. More Chieftains appear in Cinder's Cradle, where the Drak followed the humans through the broken barrier. They are the strongest regular Drak fighters, so a camp with a Chieftain is a hard fight.

How to Fight the Drak Chieftan
Jump, dodge or blink away from or over him to avoid his attacks, since he moves slowly. His Earth Smash slams the axe into the ground, and glowing earth spikes burst up where it hits. Stepping out of the yellow glow avoids the heavy damage. He can also throw a hook that drags the player in, usually followed by an axe slash. Shock and Shroud damage hurt him most, while fire works poorly. A Drak Soulward Flask adds extra damage against all Drak.

Lore
The Chieftain is a fierce reptilian fighter armed with the Chief Drak'Dal Axe. The axe's text says one swing is enough to bring a tribe to its knees. The Drak'Dal once attacked humanity and were pushed back to their islands. Their notes in Cinder's Cradle say they followed the humans through the broken barrier. They came to dig metal for blades and shields, and they see the land as their final trial.
Notes
A Drak Soulward Flask, brewed at the Alchemist from 10 each of Drak Scales, Teeth, Claws and Blood, also lets the player read Drak writing. The Chieftain drops all four of those parts, so a few fights cover a batch. It also drops Obsidian, Gold Ore, Pearls and Legendary Runes. Now and then, it drops the Chief Drak'Dal Axe itself.
