Where to Find the Hollow Skeleton

The Hollow Skeleton is the most common Hollow enemy. Huge numbers fill the Hollow Halls, and many more wait in crypts, tombs and temples. Out in the world it appears in every region from the Springlands to the Veilwater Basin. Abandoned villages, cave passages, hidden temples and old battlefields are typical places to meet it. Some skeletons also rise from glowing bone piles that keep raising new Hollow until destroyed.

How to Fight the Hollow Skeleton

The Hollow Skeleton fights only at close range with simple melee strikes. On its own it is easy, but it usually comes in groups. Blunt weapons deal half again as much damage to it, so a mace or hammer clears a crowd fast. Poison and Shroud damage only do half, so they are poor choices. Glowing bone piles nearby keep raising more skeletons. Breaking those piles with an axe or explosives first stops the flow.

Lore

The Hollow Skeleton is the common foot soldier of the Hollow. The Hollow were a cast-out underclass, condemned by the Flame and marked by a terrible curse. That curse fates them to walk Embervale in undeath for all eternity. Most were sealed away in the Hollow Halls, ancient crypts believed to have stood for thousands of years. The countless skeletons there are what remains of that banished people.
