Hollow Halls
The Hollow Halls are old underground crypt dungeons where the Hollow, an undead underclass cursed by the Flame, were sent into exile. They are tough dungeons built with group play in mind, though a well-equipped player can clear them alone. Each biome has its own Hollow Halls, with enemies, challenges and rewards that match the level of that biome.
Where to Find Hollow Halls - Map Location
Hollow Halls exist in the Springlands, Revelwood, Nomad Highlands, Kindlewastes, Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin. The Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin Halls can be entered but have no quest or teleporter tied to them.

What's Inside
- The usual fight is a large pack of Hollow enemies; Hollow Reapers and Hollow Mages are the most dangerous and are best killed first.
- The last room usually holds one or more Hollow Cyclops, a boss that hits very hard in melee.
- Barrier doors block parts of each Halls. Tally marks on the barrier show how many runes are needed; runes lie on the ground nearby or are carried by enemies marked with a rune symbol.
- Runes are often placed high up on ledges or towers, so look upward when one is missing.
- Reanimators are bone piles that keep spawning Hollow until they are destroyed; explosives or axes deal with them fast.
- Toxic Slime covers some floors; standing in it causes the Slimy debuff (poison damage, slow and stamina drain). It can be mined with a pickaxe.
- Ectoplasm Fragments drop from Hollow enemies and can be mined from green glowing bone piles with a pickaxe.
- Materials found only in the Hollow Halls: Ectoplasm Fragment, Ectoplasm Shard, Ectoplasm Crystal, Ectoplasm Cluster, Toxic Slime and Giant Bones.
- Weapons found only here: Bonescourge Mace, Mandible Crusher, Sacrilegious Steelsword, Silvershot Bow, Sinister Crescent Staff, Snakespine Wand, Spinechill Axe and Veilrift Axe.
- Hollow weapons carry the Sacred enhancement (10% extra damage against Hollow); the melee ones also have Hollow Echo, which extends attack reach.
- Hollow Reapers drop region gems: Gem of Skulls (Springlands), Gem of Fracturing (Revelwood), Gem of Lesser Necromancy and Gem of Necromancy (Nomad Highlands), Gem of Soul Reaping (Kindlewastes).
- The end rooms hold class chests for warrior, ranger and mage, either gold or silver and either weapon or armor; any number can be opened if you bring enough Ectoplasm items.
- Hidden crafting recipes are scattered through the Halls in each biome and are tracked by their own quest.
- Each Halls also hides collectible artifacts for the Collector's artifact quest, some behind secret walls.
How to Unlock
- The Alchemist gives Explore The Hollow Halls after Growing Stronger Together and Carpentry Assistance are done and the player is level 8.
- Clearing the Springlands Halls frees the Collector, who crafts the Bone Keys and hands out the quests for the other Halls.
- Every Halls after the Springlands one needs a Bone Key crafted from materials gathered in the Halls before it, so they are cleared in order: Springlands, Revelwood, Nomad Highlands, Kindlewastes.
- The Bone Key also opens locked doors inside its Halls, so keep it in the inventory.
Rewards
- Completing the Springlands Halls rewards the Collector and 1000 XP.
- The Collector turns Hollow loot into Hollow-themed furniture, decorations and food through the Ectoplasm Press.
- The Elite Hollow armor set drops only in the Kindlewastes Hollow Halls.
Tips
- Bring area damage (fire charges, explosive arrows) to handle packs, and pull small groups instead of the whole room.
- Pack healing items, food buffs, a grappling hook and a glider before going in.
- Ectoplasm Soup made by the Collector helps in Hollow fights.
- After logging out you respawn at the last save point you touched inside the Halls, so a run can be split over sessions.
- Enemies come back after a reset, which makes the Halls a repeatable farm for Ectoplasm, gems and XP.
Notes
- The Hollow Cyclops were once one-eyed giants of the Albaneve mountaintops who fled into the Halls and fell under the Flame's curse.
- The German name of the Hollow Halls is 'Hallen der Erloschenen'.
