The PvP ranking measures how much fighting a knight has actually done lately. It has its own table inside the highscore and lists the top 1,000 players of the week by points.
It rewards recent activity rather than a long career. Only the last four weeks count, so a knight who sits out four weeks drops out of the ranking however impressive their lifetime record.
How the ranking is worked out
Four figures from those four weeks go into the score: fights won, fights lost, experience gained and gold taken. The weeks are not weighted equally. The most recent week counts for more than the weeks two, three and four back, so a burst of fighting shows up straight away and then fades over the following month.
The list is rebuilt in the night from Friday to Saturday, so points and titles stay put for a week at a time. The international battlefield keeps a separate score of its own, in battle points.
The twelve tiers
Every ranked player carries one of twelve titles, each with its own badge. The exact wording of a title depends on the player's alignment and gender. Good and neutral players share the same titles all the way to the twelfth tier and only part there, while evil players take their own names from the third tier onwards.
Gender makes less of a difference. Male and female forms only differ in the top three tiers, so below tier ten a male and a female knight of the same alignment carry the same title.
