Trophies

Trophies are the heads, skulls and remains creatures leave behind when they die. Most are decoration and a few are required for progression, and every single one can be turned into coal if you would rather have the fuel.

Trophies

Regular enemies and animals drop these, usually at a low drop chance: often 5 to 15%, and sometimes lower for rare creatures. They can be:

• Hung on an Item Stand for decoration
• Loaded into a Ballista so it only shoots that creature type
• Thrown into an Obliterator for 1 Coal each
• Used as crafting ingredients in a small number of recipes, mainly specialised fishing bait and a few special items

A handful have direct progression uses. Two Deer Trophies are required to summon Eikthyr, and certain other trophies are needed to craft advanced fishing bait for later biomes.

Drop chance is rolled on every kill. Higher-star creatures improve other material drops, but the trophy rate itself stays a fixed percentage.

Boss Trophies

Every Forsaken drops its trophy at a 100% chance, and these are not decoration first.

Take a boss trophy to the Sacrificial Stones at the centre of the world and hang it on the matching stone. Once it is mounted, that boss's Forsaken power becomes available. A boss trophy left in a chest does nothing useful.

You can only have one Forsaken power active at a time, and switching means going back to the stones and selecting a different mounted trophy. Powers last five minutes and share a 20-minute cooldown.

Notes

• All trophies stack to 20.
• Any trophy can be destroyed in an Obliterator for 1 Coal.
• Boss trophies must hang at the Sacrificial Stones to unlock the matching power.
• A normal trophy can program a Ballista to target only that creature.
• Drop rates on normal trophies are fixed, and gear or preparation does not change the percentage.
• Only a small number of normal trophies are actual crafting ingredients.
