The Frigid Kiln turns Ice into Liquid Frost, the fuel of the Frost Foundry. It takes only ice, and it turns five ice into one Liquid Frost every 30 seconds.

How to Build It

It costs twenty Stone, ten Frostcores and five ice, and you place it with a Workbench in range. It cannot go on wood, in water or on a slope. You load the ice like fuel, and the Liquid Frost drops out as it is made.

It holds up to 25 ice at once and turns five of them into one Liquid Frost every 30 seconds. A full load gives five Liquid Frost in two and a half minutes, exactly one cast's worth of fuel. It has 1,500 durability, resists blunt, pierce, slash and chop, and ignores fire, frost, poison and spirit. Its footprint is four metres by four.

Like a smelter, it stops while its smoke is blocked. The ice sheets along the Deep North shore drop two to three ice per fragment, the ice ponds drop one to three per part, and the biome's Greydwarves, Shamans and Skeletons drop one to four depending on their stars. Carrying Liquid Frost instead of ice saves weight: five Liquid Frost weigh 10, while the 25 ice behind them weigh 25.
