The Grinding wheel is the one forge upgrade that costs no metal at all: 25 blocks of Wood and a single Sharpening Stone for a stone wheel in a timber frame. It sits in the Crafting Stations tab and does nothing on its own. Its only job is to raise the level of the Forge it stands beside, so you can make better weapons and upgrade worn gear a rank higher.
How to Build It
It costs 25x Wood and 1x Sharpening Stone, which is itself made at a Stonecutter, and the recipe only shows up in the build menu once you carry one. The wheel has to stand inside the Forge's build circle to count towards its level, so find it a spot before the area crowds up. With 100 durability it breaks as easily as the rest of the forge furniture. Because neither wood nor a Sharpening Stone is a metal ingot, its materials go through a portal, where most forge upgrades' materials will not.
