Magmafish is a catch only the Ashlands will give you, because it swims in scalding water and refuses ordinary bait.
How to Get It
Bring a Fishing Rod and Hot Fishing Bait. You mix the bait at a Food Preparation Table from twenty ordinary Fishing Bait and a warrior trophy. Sail to the Ashlands coast, which is a voyage in itself, and cast into the hot shallows. The fish cooks on a Cooking Station like any other, but hold some back, because the Fishing Hat and its upgrades are the real reason anyone fills a chest with them.
Quality
Fish do not carry stars. Instead each fish has a quality from 1 to 5, rolled when it spawns. In most waters there is a 20% chance to step up a level, and in the Ashlands and Deep North that chance is 15%. A higher quality fish is visibly larger, weighs more, and cleans into more Raw Fish at a Food Preparation Table.
