The Cooking Station is a rack made from two lengths of wood. It is the cheapest piece in the Crafting Stations tab, and it turns raw meat into something that will not double you over. On its own it is only a grill, so it needs a fire underneath before anything on it starts to sizzle.

How to Build It

Building one takes two wood and a workbench in range, which is about as cheap as building gets. Set it over a heat source: a campfire, hearth or hanging brazier placed below it. With 20 durability it is the flimsiest thing on the plot, so a stray arrow or a troll's swing will break it. Watch the food as well, because meat left on the rack too long burns down to coal.
