Fishing Bait is what a Fishing Rod casts. Haldor sells it twenty at a time for 10 Coins, and every cast uses one piece, whether anything bites or not.
Where to Get It
Plain bait comes only from Haldor. Every other kind is made from it at a Food Preparation Table: 20 plain bait plus one trophy makes 20 of that variant.
The Variants
Each trophy makes the bait for a different fish, and a fish only takes its own bait.
- Heavy: made with a Serpent trophy, for Tuna and Coral Cod out in the Ocean.
- Misty: made with a Lox trophy, for Pufferfish and Anglerfish off the Mistlands.
- Mossy: made with a Troll trophy, for Trollfish in Black Forest water.
- Sticky: made with an Abomination trophy, for Giant Herring in the Swamp.
- Stingy: made with a Fuling trophy, for Grouper off the Plains.
- Cold: made with a Fenring trophy, for Pike and Tetra in the Mountain.
- Hot: made with a Charred Warrior trophy, for Magmafish in the Ashlands.
- Frosty: made with a Drake trophy, for Northern Salmon in the Deep North.
Notes
- Each cast uses up a bait, so a long fishing session needs a few hundred.
- It weighs 0.1 and stacks to 100.
- Catching one of every fish unlocks the Fishing Hat.
