You cannot buy or loot the Fishing Hat. You make it from one of every fish in the world, from the ponds of the Meadows to the Magmafish of the Ashlands. It has 8 armour, or 14 fully upgraded, and on its own it takes a 100-damage hit down to 92.

How to Craft

Upgrades

You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. Every stat quoted elsewhere on this page is for quality 1, so this table shows where your own copy sits:

Quality Crafting Station Armor Durability Resources
1 Workbench (Level 1) 8 1000
2 Workbench (Level 2) 10 1000
3 Workbench (Level 3) 12 1000
4 Workbench (Level 4) 14 1000

Notes

  • Armor lowers physical, fire, frost and lightning damage, but poison and spirit damage go straight through it.
  • While your armor is less than half of a hit's damage, it is simply subtracted from the hit. Once it reaches half the damage or more, the damage taken becomes the damage squared divided by four times your armor, so doubling your armor halves the damage you take.
  • Your armor rating is the total of the helmet, chest, leg and cape pieces you wear.
