The Wood Iron Beam 45° is pitched at the steeper angle, rising as far as it travels, and it sits with the rest of the iron-banded timbers under Supports. Two Wood and one Iron buy a member that seats flush beneath a steep roofline, or runs as a diagonal brace across a frame that will not stop racking.

How to Build It

It needs two Wood, one Iron and a Forge within range, and the same station has to be there when the piece needs patching. An angled member only earns its keep where the piece it meets shares its pitch. Pair it with a 45 degree roof or another 45 piece and it beds in cleanly. Run it against a shallower slope and you are left with a seam you cannot close. Reinforced or not, it is no drier than plain timber and weathers the same way.
