The Erynia is a Hybrid and a close relative of the Harpy. Erynias live on the isles of Skellige. Hard as it is to imagine, they are even uglier and more dangerous than their Harpy cousins.

Lore

The sorceress Lytta Neyd, known as Coral, opens the bestiary entry with a sharp story. A merchant once compared Coral to an Erynia. Coral at once teleported the poor man into one of their nests. There the merchant could see firsthand how poorly the comparison fit.

Behaviour

Erynias like their carrion well rotted, but they gladly eat fresh meat too, human flesh included. Like Harpies and Shishigas, they hunt as a flock and make full use of their numbers. They also rule the skies. When they spot a victim, they circle overhead and then strike from several sides at once.

Weaknesses

Coat the silver sword with Hybrid Oil. Aard is the Sign to use, and Grapeshot is the bomb to bring.

Erynias attack with razor-sharp talons that tear their prey to shreds. They aim for the neck, the eyes and other vital organs, and their victims often bleed to death. A small flock can kill a bigger, better-armed foe this way, because few can fight off several attackers at once.
