The Garkain is a lesser Vampire that hunts in Toussaint. Like the Fleder, it belongs to a group of especially dangerous vampires. Its strength is greater even than that of a Fiend.
Lore
"Blood on the ceiling, guts on the walls... Must be a garkain." So said Yan of Lan Exeter, an investigator and Captain of the City Watch. A meeting with a garkain almost always ends in death. That is why so few eyewitness accounts exist.
Most of what is known comes from the city guard of Lan Exeter. Three garkains once attacked that city, until a witcher named Olivier of Gulet killed them. The guard's reports show that garkains do more than drink blood. The investigators found blood and guts all over each crime scene. They concluded that garkains tear their victims to shreds with great delight and wallow in the remains.
Behaviour
Garkains often gather other lesser vampires around them and lead the pack. A garkain can barely run, but it can jump a long way. It often attacks its prey with a single leap.
Weaknesses
Drink Black Blood before getting close, and coat the silver sword with Vampire Oil. Samum and Moon Dust bombs are always good weapons against its mental attacks.
In a fight, a garkain likes to keep its distance. From there it strikes with a blast of mental energy. The blast brings on visions that confuse and disorient its foe.
