Ursine Steel Sword - Mastercrafted is the Mastercrafted tier of the Ursine (Bear School) steel sword, witcher gear from the base game. It deals 284-348 damage at level 34, with +20% adrenaline gain and +75% crit damage. Its diagram is in the cave west of the Pellar's hut in Velen. It is late-game steel.
It also gives +5% bonus experience from humans and nonhumans and has 3 rune slots. The adrenaline gain suits an adrenaline build, and the Ursine set bonuses suit a Quen tank.
Against the Superior tier, it raises adrenaline gain from 15% to 20%, crit damage from 50% to 75% and damage from 256-312 to 284-348.
Set Bonus
The Ursine set is heavy armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 20, Enhanced at 25, Superior at 30, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: when a Quen shield breaks, a new one may be cast at no stamina cost, with a 5% chance per set piece worn. 6 pieces: damage dealt by abilities that involve Quen rises by 200%.

The pin marks the cave behind the Pellar's hut, northwest of Blackbough in Velen. The Ursine Steel Sword - Mastercrafted diagram sits in a chest behind a column in the large chamber. It turns up during Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4, and a master blacksmith crafts the sword from it.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4 by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying Ibrahim Savi's fourth map from the armorer at Kaer Trolde.
- Go to the cave behind the Pellar's hut, northwest of Blackbough.
- Kill the nekkers outside, or the bear if A Princess in Distress is active.
- Head inside, minding the two drops.
- In the large chamber, follow the wall on the right past a deer corpse.
- Loot the chest behind the column for the steel sword diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Ursine Steel Sword - Mastercrafted instead. It needs level 34 plus the NG+ starting level, deals 292-356.8 damage at level 35 and gives +25% adrenaline gain and +100% crit damage.
