Hacking the Hacker is an Agent Saboteur gig from El Capitan in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. 6th Street jumped a Militech transport in El Capitan's territory, and their techies are cracking the stolen corporate weapon in a hideout high up in a megabuilding. El Capitan wants a virus uploaded to their computer, and the techie behind the plan, Lucius Thoran, gone for good.

Story

A Rude Awakening

El Capitan is annoyed in the journal. The boys and girls of 6th Street think they are clever enough to jump a Militech transport in his neighbourhood without him knowing. They think they can crack corporate weapons and tip the balance of power their way. It is time they got a rude awakening.

He sends the hideout's location and door code. The job is simple: get in, find the computer they use to jailbreak corporate tech, upload his virus, and watch their fancy new weapon melt into scrap. One more thing: if V finds Lucius Thoran, El Capitan would like him to disappear. Thoran is the techie who came up with this plan, which makes him a real thorn in El Capitan's side, pun intended.

The Hideout

The whole floor of the megabuilding belongs to 6th Street. Two gangers wait outside the lift with their backs to V. The target computer sits on the top floor of the hideout, across the building, and Lucius Thoran works in the same room.

Getting In

  1. Go to the megabuilding in Arroyo and take the lift up to the 6th Street floor.
  2. Deal with or slip past the two gangers by the lift.
  3. Take the walkway to the right toward the hideout on the far side.
  4. For stealth, go through the window into the abandoned rooms on the right, which need Body and Technical Ability.

The Computer

  1. At the stairs, go up to the right to reach the target room directly. The lower route has a turret.
  2. Kill Lucius Thoran quietly.
  3. Upload the virus onto the 6th Street netrunner's computer.

Getting Out

  1. Leave the hideout and take the lift down. If combat started, 6th Street gangers may be waiting outside.
  2. Go to the drop point at the foot of the building after El Capitan calls.
