MIA is an SOS: Merc Needed gig from Dakota Smith in the southern Badlands. The merc Benedict McAdams killed a crooked Night City councilman for Dakota, and she promised to get him out of the city. But his driver, Jason Wildriver, went off route, and McAdams vanished. Luckily, McAdams had a GPS chip put in his biomonitor before the job, and its signal leads to a farmhouse in the Biotechnica Flats.

Story

A Fixer's Promise

Dakota puts it simply in the journal. A fixer is worth no more and no less than their last promise, and she promised Benedict McAdams a way out of town once he finished a job for her. Benedict is a real pro. Six hours after he took the job, Councilman McClean's heart stopped, a fat fish Dakota had kept on her line too long. Because the risk of a slip was high, Benedict had a GPS put in his biomonitor so Dakota could keep an eye on him.

He had a driver, Jason Wildriver. But instead of racing to the border, Jason went off route, and something stinks worse than McClean's corpse. Dakota wants V to find them and bring Benedict back, and she will find him a new driver.

The Farmhouse

McAdams is locked in the basement of an abandoned house. Wildriver chose to sell him to Militech. The dead councilman had deep ties to the corp, and Militech wanted to cover up the corruption by blaming McAdams for the murder and a string of other shady deals. Wildriver jumped at the money. As V arrives, he can be heard on the phone with a Militech contact, threatening to kill McAdams unless the corp pays more.

Starkey

At the meeting point, the new driver arrives, and McAdams recognises him as Starkey, an old friend. The two drive off together.

The Farmhouse

  1. Go to the abandoned farmhouse on Clements Street in the Biotechnica Flats.
  2. Deal with Wildriver in the yard, by killing him, knocking him out or sneaking past.
  3. Watch out for the mines behind the house and the turret at the front.
  4. Use the computer inside the house to switch off the camera in the basement.
  5. Open the basement door with 12 Body, or with the access token on the desk next to it.

Ben

  1. Find Ben in the basement and talk to him.
  2. Take Ben to a car. If V has none, the Archer Quartz "Sidewinder" in the garage will do.
  3. Drive Ben to the meeting point.
  4. Get out of the car and wait for Dakota's driver.
  5. Talk to Dakota's driver.

Completing MIA pays €$ 21,780, 1,000 experience and 1,710 Street Cred. It also rewards Reinforced-laminate military flight jacket.

The gig pays eddies, experience and Street Cred.

Tips

Wildriver is the only enemy at the farmhouse. Starting the Sidewinder alerts him if he is still up, but he is easy to escape.
