Machine Gun is a side job about Skippy, the talking smart pistol found next to a body in an alley in Vista del Rey, Heywood. After Skippy has switched fire modes and V has put enough enemies down with it, the gun digs up data on its previous owner, Regina Jones. It asks V to take it home to her in Kabuki, Watson.
Story
A Gun That Talks Back
Johnny is a little sorry in the journal. So V is giving Skippy back to Regina? Too bad. It is not every day V finds a gun to share deepest, darkest secrets with, and have it share back. Then again, he understands. V already has enough voices in V's head.
Regina
V asks Regina about Skippy. She says the gun was stolen, and asks V to set it down so she can run a diagnostic. What she says next depends on Skippy's mode. If Skippy is a Stone Cold Killer, she needs to run a deeper test. If Skippy is a Puppy Loving Pacifist, she resets it to factory settings and renames it "Daisy".
V can then ask where she got Skippy, or whether V will be paid for the trouble. If Skippy was reset, V can also accuse Regina of killing it. She dismisses the idea, as the gun has no consciousness.
Machine Gun Map Location and Walkthrough
Machine Gun map location:
- Pick up Skippy next to the body in the alley in Vista del Rey.
- Use Skippy until it changes fire modes and comments on V's body count.
- Wait a few more days, until Skippy asks to be returned to Regina.
- Take Skippy to Regina Jones in Kabuki.
- Set Skippy down for the diagnostic.
- Talk to Regina and collect the reward.
- Some time later, read Regina's message and collect Skippy from her if desired.

Rewards
Completing Machine Gun pays €$ 12,420 and 570 experience. It also rewards Skippy (no-AI).
Regina pays eddies, and the job pays experience. Some time later, she texts V and offers Skippy back, without its personality AI. V picks it up from her at Yaiba Tower.
Tips
Skippy counts as a quest item until the job is done, so it cannot be dropped or put on the stash wall before then.
