Biography

The Soviet Fixer

Akulov rose to become the top fixer of the Soviet Union. His visit to Night City is tied to a race between the Soviet Union and China to secure a major deal with Arasaka. He and his assistant, Nadezhda Tiurina, hold talks with Arasaka at Konpeki Plaza. When the hotel is locked down after Saburo Arasaka's death, they move to the penthouse of Hotel Raito, and the talks drag on for weeks.

Spies and Counter-Spies

Akulov secretly brings in a netrunner called Shelma to watch the Chinese on the local net and hide his true purpose. The Chinese are ready for this and burn Shelma without Akulov noticing, leaving him exposed. A Chinese colonel hires Regina Jones to plant a bug in Akulov's car, and Regina gives the gig to V. The same client then hires her to steal a shard with records of Akulov's talks from his hotel suite.
