Type	Gig
Gig Type	Thievery
Fixer	Regina Jones
Tier	6
District	Northside
Region	Watson
Location	Maelstrom warehouse

Scrolls before Swine is a Thievery gig from Regina Jones in Northside, Watson. The client is Aaron McCarlson, an NCPD sergeant who once worked for Regina as a consultant on a TV show. He says he has found a Maelstrom torture den, and wants V to steal the security footage from the warehouse. The footage holds something Aaron does not want anyone to see.

Story

Getting Creative

Regina introduces the client in the journal. Aaron was a consultant on her show "Cops 'n' Chops", eight seasons of it, and now he wants a favour. He has been digging into Maelstrom for a while, and says he found the warehouse where they torture people. But the law buries cops in paperwork, so to get anything done they have to get creative. Rather than wait for judges to sign off, Aaron is hiring a contractor.

The job is simple: get into the warehouse, steal the camera footage and bring it to Aaron. It should be enough to push his case through. And if a few Maelstrom gangers get shot on the way, Regina reckons the world will not miss them.

The Footage

Six gang members guard the warehouse, three outside and three in. The computer with the file sits in an office on the second floor. Before taking the file, V can play the video in the computer's files tab. It is a short loop showing Aaron murdering a woman in the alley behind the warehouse. Johnny reacts with disgust.

Aaron

Aaron lives on the second floor of a small building just north of the Longshore North fast travel point. If V took the file without alerting anyone, he compliments V's skills. Regina is glad: Aaron's trust means she can use his NCPD connections.

Choices

What to Tell Aaron

Handing over the file, or saying V does not want anything, ends the gig normally. Regina pays, though Johnny complains if V watched the video and did nothing.

If V watched the video, V can tell Aaron what V saw. V can then demand money, and Aaron pays double, which Johnny scorns. Or V can say V wants him behind bars, and he attacks.

Knocking Aaron out without killing him pleases both Johnny and Regina, and he later turns up at Malted Iguana Liquors in Downtown for a talk with V. Killing him pleases Johnny, but Regina is unhappy: Aaron had huge influence in the NCPD, and V had leverage over him. With the client dead, nobody gets paid.

Rewards

Completing Scrolls before Swine pays €$ 4,800 (dependent), 1,000 experience and 906 Street Cred.

The gig pays eddies, experience and Street Cred, and more money if V blackmails Aaron. If Aaron dies, there is no payment, though there is money to loot in his flat.

Tips

For the best outcome, watch the tape, tell Aaron V has seen it and wants him behind bars, then knock him out with non lethal attacks. Quickhacks cannot target Aaron, even once he turns hostile.
