Who Wants to Live Forever is the Phantom Liberty main job that leads to the expansion's own ending. It opens if V handed Songbird over to the government in The Killing Moon or Somewhat Damaged. Solomon Reed offers V a cure through the FIA, and V meets the agents' flying car on the roof above Misty's Esoterica in Little China.
Story
Reed's Offer
If V surrendered Songbird to the government, V can choose this cure later, whatever V says in the jobs that follow. Reed gets in touch by call or text. V can turn down his help, which ends the job, or accept it, which leads to the roof of Misty's Esoterica. The option to call Reed also appears on the same roof during Nocturne Op55N1.
The Last Talk
On the roof, V and Johnny Silverhand talk one last time. The journal holds Johnny's farewell. The finale is not grand, he says: their story ends not with a bang but with a scalpel, and he dies so that V can live on. He admits he always suspected it would end this way, because to him it was always V's body and V's life. He does not know what will happen to V after he is gone. His last piece of advice is to stay true to V's own self, no matter how hard anyone pushes.
The Flight
V can text friends before leaving. Then FIA agents arrive, and V talks to their leader and gets into the flying car. The story continues in Things Done Changed.

- Wait about a day for Reed to get in touch.
- Talk to Reed and accept his help.
- Head to the roof above Misty's Esoterica.
- Sit in the chair and talk to Johnny.
- Text V's friends if desired.
- Wait for the FIA agents.
- Talk to the FIA agent.
- Get into the flying car.

Choices
V can still decline Reed's help when he gets in touch, which ends the job without the operation. Accepting it leads to the operation and to Things Done Changed. Texting friends before the flight is optional.

- This path needs the Phantom Liberty expansion and a choice to give Songbird to the government.
