The Ash of War: Prayerful Strike is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Sacred affinity and the Prayerful Strike skill. It becomes available in the middle of a run.

Prayerful Strike raises the weapon aloft in prayer, then slams it into the ground in a heavy overhead blow. If the slam connects, it restores 30 percent of the wielder's maximum HP and heals nearby allies as well, and every enemy struck triggers the heal again. The slam deals high stance damage, especially on hammers, and the motion carries hyper armor. It suits Faith and Strength builds that want to heal while dealing damage.

Stats

It grants the Sacred affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Heavy, Quality or Lightning. The skill costs 20 FP. It fits Axe, Greataxe, Hammer, Flail, Great Hammer and Colossal Weapon.

Skill

The slam is slow, so it lands best on staggered, recovering or slow enemies, and the hyper armor lets it trade through weaker hits. Hitting several enemies at once multiplies the healing. The attack can be parried, and a whiff gives no healing, so it should not be used as an emergency heal at range.

"Raise armament aloft in prayer, then slam it into the ground. This inspired blow restores HP to the self and nearby allies if it successfully hits."

Good With

Weapons Great Stars, Morning Star, Great Mace, Large Club, Battle Axe
Affinity Sacred adds holy damage that scales with Faith, while Heavy keeps the slam strong on a pure Strength build.
Talismans Shard of Alexander, Warrior Jar Shard
Stats Faith and Strength

Notes

  • The heal triggers once per enemy hit, so hitting three enemies heals the wielder three times.
  • The scarab can still be found after Leyndell becomes the Ashen Capital.
