The Ash of War: Spectral Lance is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Occult affinity and the Spectral Lance skill. It becomes available in the middle of a run.
Spectral Lance is the skill of the headless Mausoleum Knights: the wielder hurls a phantasmal spear at the foe from long range. The lance tracks targets exceptionally well, deals heavy stance damage that breaks many common enemies in a single hit, and benefits from headshots. Its damage scales with weapon level and Arcane. It suits Arcane builds with spears and halberds that want a strong ranged option.
Stats
It grants the Occult affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Heavy, Quality, Poison or Blood. The skill costs 9 FP. It fits Spear, Great Spear and Halberd.
How to Get Ash of War: Spectral Lance Guide
- Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab in the Academy of Raya Lucaria, in the graveyard east of the Church of the Cuckoo Site of Grace.
- Past the wooden rope bridge, the scarab sits on a descending, curved slope near the cliff edge.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
Damage falls off at long distances, so the lance hits hardest at mid range. The Arrow's Reach Talisman extends its effective range, and the Smithing Talisman raises its damage. Black Flame Blade's damage over time carries onto the lance, but other weapon buffs do not.
