The Halberd is a Halberd in Elden Ring. It can be picked up early, in Limgrave, within the first few hours of a run.

The Halberd is a long-handled polearm that combines the functions of an axe and a spear, able to press a single enemy with continuous thrusts or sweep through groups with its great reach and cleaving blade. It is the starting weapon of the Vagabond and is sold by the Nomadic Merchant east of Saintsbridge in northern Limgrave. Its light attacks are a series of thrusting pokes, while its heavy attacks are wide sweeps. It scales evenly with Strength and Dexterity, comes with Charge Forth and accepts Ashes of War and affinities. It suits a beginning melee character who wants reach and flexibility.

Skill

Charge Forth costs 16 FP. The wielder lowers the weapon to the hip and charges forward, carrying the momentum into a powerful piercing thrust. Holding the button extends the charge to cover more ground before the thrust lands. Only the final thrust can be parried, and the long reach makes it a fast way to close distance on a distant target. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.

A versatile early halberd: poke from range, sweep crowds, and grow into a quality or Strength build as it is infused.
