The Ash of War: Troll's Roar is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Heavy affinity and the Troll's Roar skill. It is found in the Mountaintops of the Giants, near the end of a run.
Troll's Roar has the wielder gaze into the distance and let out an intense roar, sending out a shockwave that blasts back surrounding foes. A strong attack follow-up slams the weapon down for heavy damage at no extra FP. The roar deals heavy stance damage at close range and the whole skill carries hyper armor. It suits Strength builds with greatswords, colossal weapons, greataxes and great hammers.
Stats
It grants the Heavy affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 22 FP. It fits Greatsword, Colossal Sword, Heavy Thrusting Sword, Curved Greatsword, Great Katana, Greataxe, Great Hammer and Colossal Weapon.
How to Get Ash of War: Troll's Roar Guide
- Found on top of a colossal skull south of the Church of Repose at Flame Peak in the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- A nearby Spiritspring launches up to the top of the skull.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
The roar is strongest up close, where it hits much harder and deals far more stance damage than at its outer edge. The follow-up slam is slow and telegraphed, so it should be used after the roar staggers or knocks down an enemy. The skill cannot be parried.
