The Troll's Hammer is a Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Altus Plateau, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at C, Dex at E and Fai at D, so Str is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 28, Dex 8 and Fai 10 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.

Notes

Mining tool of stonedigger trolls used to crack bedrock. Trolls are descended from the giants, and these were supposedly once used as ceremonial smithing tools. In the distant past, smithing was considered divine.

Found on a corpse within a shed inside the Old Altus Tunnel, located on Altus Plateau.
The tunnel requires two Stonesword Keys to access.
