Astel, Naturalborn of the Void is a legendary boss in Elden Ring.
Astel, Naturalborn of the Void is the malformed star that once destroyed an Eternal City. It waits in a starry cavern reached by a coffin beyond the Lake of Rot. Its gravity magic, teleports and grabs make it a dangerous fight. Defeating it opens the way to the Moonlight Altar and Ranni's ending.
Lore
Astel has a long insect body built from orbs of many-colored star debris. A segmented tail curls behind it like a scorpion's, and thin translucent wings rise from its back. Its six limbs end in grasping human hands. Its head is a cracked human skull with huge mandibles, and a single blue eye glows through the crack.
Astel is a malformed star born in the flightless void far away. It once destroyed an Eternal City and took away its sky. It is remembered as a falling star of ill omen, kin to the fallingstar beasts of the lightless dark.

Attacks
- Pincer combo: a string of claw strikes at close range. A roll through the last swing opens the head to a counter.
- Glowing pincer grab: the claws glow purple before a grab. A sideways roll as the claws close avoids it.
- Tail sweep: a long reaching tail strike that can kill in one hit. A well-timed roll through the tail avoids it.
- Teleport grab: Astel vanishes and drops from above to grab. Looking up and rolling as it lands avoids it.
- Gravity wave: a burst of gravity when the player stays under it too long. Moving out from under the body avoids it.
- Meteor shower and void clouds: falling stars and exploding purple clouds. Leaving the marked area avoids them.
Tactics
- Summon a spirit ash that can draw attention, because the boss has a lot of health.
- Fight near the head, because the head is the weak spot and the bites are easy to dodge from there.
- Punish the long recovery after a pincer attack with jump attacks.
- Watch the sky after every teleport and roll when Astel drops.
- Stay out of the exploding clouds.
- Use physical damage, because Astel resists magic, fire, lightning and holy strongly.
