Beast Champion Armor (Altered) is the altered form of Bernahl the Recusant's beast-engraved silver plate, carrying the same tale of a champion whose maiden threw herself into the fire. It remains a heavy chest piece with excellent poise. It suits heavy builds that want Bernahl's protection with a little less weight.

The Beast Champion Armor (Altered) drops from Recusant Bernahl, together with the rest of the Beast Champion set, when he invades in Crumbling Farum Azula after Rykard's defeat.

Join the Volcano Manor through Tanith so that Recusant Bernahl moves into the manor.
Defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy.
Talk to Bernahl in the Volcano Manor and exhaust his dialogue so that he leaves.
Reach Crumbling Farum Azula and rest at the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace.
Head north from the Great Bridge toward the tower holding the Old Lord's Talisman chest; Bernahl invades on the way.
Defeat him to receive the Beast Champion set, with the chest piece in its altered form.
