What's Inside
- Saline Quarry: salt in the first Shroud valley south-east of the start, with the Salt Mine Tunnels lore and a Big Ammonite.
- Egerton Salt Mines: Shroud-covered salt mine north-west of the Springlands spire, with Fell Critter nests.
- Ridgeback Mine: Shroud-covered iron mine in the Kindlewastes; a Shroud Root there is guarded by the boss Fell Sicklescythe.
- Glimmer Rock Mine has a Flame Shrine hidden behind rubble at its entrance.
- Other named mines: Small Flint Mine, Mark of Sameth, Mining Rift, Smothering Pit, Ternion Mine, Camellia Lake and Fletcher Marble Quarries, Obsidian Mine and Aquamarine Mine.
How to Unlock
The Hunter's quest Salt Mine Location points to Egerton Salt Mines. The Blacksmith's quest Hearts Of Iron points to Ridgeback Mine; it needs level 19 and Shroud Passage Level 5.

Rewards
Two quests point to named mines and pay a first load of their ore. The Hunter's quest Salt Mine Location sends the player to the Egerton Salt Mines, because salt is needed to preserve fur. It pays Salt and some experience. The Blacksmith's quest Hearts Of Iron reveals the Ridgeback Mine, an iron mine deep in the Shroud of the Kindlewastes, and pays Iron Ore. The real reward of every mine is its large deposits, which save long searches for ore. Ridgeback Mine should only be visited once Hearts Of Iron is active, or the quest may never start.

Tips
- Do not visit Ridgeback Mine before taking Hearts Of Iron, or the quest may not unlock.
- Glide to Egerton Salt Mines from the Springlands spire and bring Shroud flasks.
- Cut the Ridgeback Mine root first or mine fast; the whole site is Shrouded.
