The Fell Sicklescythe is a boss of Enshrouded that guards Shrouded places across the Kindlewastes and beyond. Its head pays for Flame level 6.
Fell Sicklescythe Location
Inside the Sun Temple of the abandoned village of Brittlebush, just past the border from the Nomad Highlands; the entrance is visible when gliding north into Brittlebush. Glide south-east from the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire or north-west from the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire. The quest Sun Temple Stories marks it, and the quest names the boss 'the Specter'.
| Region | Location | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Kindlewastes | Haunted Sun Temple, Brittlebush | Right after entering from the Nomad Highlands; the quest Sun Temple Stories marks it. |

Abilities
| Ability | Effect | Counter |
|---|---|---|
| Sickle Throw | Hurls two sickles that fly out and curve back to it like boomerangs. It is its most frequent attack; a hit does roughly 70 damage. The sickles home in well, fly through objects and can break weak walls. | Block with a shield as they arrive, which removes them before they can return, or parry them back: hold block when they are just outside melee range and use lock-on so they fly into the boss. Standing right in front of or under the boss makes the throw miss. Solid walls stop them. |
| Skull Bomb | Conjures a slow, screaming skull that drifts toward you and bursts after a short delay or on contact for about 200-300 magic damage. It cannot be blocked and has a long cast animation. | Run from it and keep moving, or put a pillar, doorway or wall between you and the skull. Melee players can dodge back, then roll forward under it; blink also avoids it. |
How to Beat the Fell Sicklescythe
- Bring a ranged option; it hovers out of melee reach for much of the fight.
- Equip a shield and block or parry the sickle throws; parried sickles fly back and do large damage.
- Attack in the gap right after a sickle throw, before the next one comes.
- When the skull appears, run from it or duck behind a pillar or doorway; the Haunted Sun Temple has pillars that work as cover.
- Pack bandages and health potions.
- All of its spawns sit in the Shroud, so watch the Shroud timer; a Shroud survival flask helps. At the Haunted Sun Temple the stairs just above the arena are outside the Shroud.

The Fell Sicklescythe Head is the boss item for strengthening the Flame from level 5 to level 6. Flame level 6 raises Shroud time to 10 minutes, the attribute bonus to 5 and the Shroud Passage Level to 6. The same upgrade also takes 8 Survivors, 40 Spark, 40 Enshrouded Vulture Talon, 40 Saffron, 40 Iron Ore, 40 Lapislazuli and 40 Brittle Shroud Flakes.
Lore
The Carpenter's aunt Elin is said to have been cursed in a Kindlewastes Sun Temple. The Farmer Emily Fray, who comes from the Kindlewastes, confirms the Brittlebush temple is haunted by an evil spirit that has lived there since the Shroud flooded the land. Its head keeps a faint glow behind the eyes, and on a trophy the eye muscles still twitch. Its mist is a thick vapor charged with Shroud magic, used for magical armor and spells.
Notes
- The quest Sun Temple Stories comes from the Carpenter; it needs Flame Altar level 5 and either In Need Of A Tanning Station or Almanac of Plants and Seedlings For The Farmer. It rewards a Fell Sicklescythe Head and 150 XP.
- Do not visit Ridgeback Mine before taking Hearts of Iron, or that quest never unlocks.
- A Hunter crafts the Fell Sicklescythe Trophy from 2 Wood Planks, 1 Fell Sicklescythe Head and 2 Nails; it gives +1 comfort.
- Mist of a Fell Sicklescythe is a rare, level 25 material that stacks to 250.
