A gold donkey is an account that regularly loses a large sum of gold when it is attacked, generally more than 100. Not every account that keeps losing gold is one, because a farm account looks the same from outside.
Loose gold is what a winning attacker takes, so the habit is worth hunting. Donkeys turn up by luck or, deliberately, by sorting the highscore on gold lost and then making a test attack.
Gold lists
A gold list, goldi list in the shorter form, is the record a gold hunter or a whole guild keeps of likely targets, so that names can be traded between members. Each entry holds the name, the level, a link to the player and the loot; databases, purpose-built pages and spreadsheets are all in use.
Manufacturing one is forbidden: an account made to hand gold to other players breaks the game rules whether it feeds the whole server or a single friend, and the stated penalty is deletion of all of the game accounts.
A gold donkey is not a farm account
A real gold donkey carries equipment roughly in step with its level, has attributes sometimes weak for the level but never absurdly low, and loses on average at most a tenth of its tavern wage and mission loot combined. A farm account wears gear that does not suit its level or none at all, sits well under the rough guide of twice the level, and loses more than its earnings can explain.
The worked examples are a level 33 account in a one-handed weapon and body armour both marked for level 30, put at around 200 to 300 gold lost regularly, against a level 4 account earning 2,000 gold from an eight hour job that still sheds 700 gold or more. The first example's wage is left as placeholder text, so no earnings figure is published for it.
Report a suspect account to an administrator rather than settling the question by attacking: a player who keeps hitting a farm account risks deletion for farming.
Staying off the lists
There is no bank, so the counter is to hold no loose gold. Take a safety fight every 30 to 40 minutes on a mission, which keeps the hour protection from lapsing. Put what training leaves over into small weapons, jewellery or soul stones, though the merchant returns only half of what was paid, and the bazaar beats that only with luck. Donate the rest to the guild, which cannot repay it but can spend it on the castle or the next war.
