| Weight | 3 |
| Tans Into | Leather |
The Snow Bear Pelt is the most valuable of the three bear hides at 75 gold, and the hardest to come by, because snow bears live in the high country and appear later than their lowland cousins. It tans into the same Leather as the others.
Drops
Snow bears drop it, as does the Ursine Guardian, and a spriggan's bear companion can carry one. Hunters and general goods merchants begin stocking them at level 10.
Notes
At 3 weight for 75 gold the ratio is 25 gold per unit carried, the best of any common hide in the game and better than most ores. If you are hunting in the mountains anyway, the pelts pay for the trip.
Ten bear pelts of any kind satisfy Grin and Bear It, so these count as readily as an ordinary Bear Pelt.
Tanning is done at a tanning rack, which needs no perk and grants no Smithing experience. The value is in the weight saved: a bag of pelts is heavy and the Leather it becomes is not.
